A Quick Shot about Bourbon

First, we are not lushes in my family, but we do appreciate a libation once in a while. While last week, I taste-tested champagne, my son, it turns out followed the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Hearing about his trip triggered an idea to report his findings. I know so little about bourbon that I found his comments to be a useful.  Here’s what I learned:

To be Bourbon it must be:

• 51% Corn
• Aged for 2 years in a White Oak cask  
• 60 Proof
• Limestone filtered, iron free water
